How shall my eyes sleep...
Concerts

Sounds and words bringing back memories from 800 (or 500) years ago... cradle my eyes when they are unwilling to sleep. A music project that combines instruments, sounds and words from other eras with contemporary works and digital resources.
Filipe Faria and Pedro Castro produce new sounds using ancient instruments... As if they had closed their eyes today and let hundreds of years flow by. As if it were today...
Music by Filipe Faria and Pedro Castro inspired by music composed by Diego Ortiz (c.1510 - c.1570).
Texts selected by Filipe Faria: written by Pero Meogo (13th century?), Cristóvão Falcão (c.1512 - c.1557), King Dinis (1261 - 1325), Airas Nunes (13th century), Joam Zorro (13th century).
Filipe Faria | voice, percussion, ukulele, berimbau, Jew’s harp, iPad
Pedro Castro | flute, oboe da caccia, duduk, bagpipes, didgeridoo, iPad
