Listening to the waters - Works in the Schneider Collection and by Portuguese artists
Regular visits

Every Saturday at the Money Museum at 4.30 p.m. and at Torreão Nascente da Cordoaria Nacional at 11.00 a.m. (60 min.)
The exhibition encourages us away from the periphery, in a falsely safe aloofness, having us throw ourselves into the current, aware that we are now afloat. There is a knowingness and plastic force in water that must be heard.
Where opposites collide: a vital resource and the cause of mortal conflicts; the setting for journeys full of hope and a shameful cemetery of the abandoned; a natural threat to mankind while being irretrievably threatened by it; a symbol of life, and of death; an image of time passing, running away from us, and of the eternal source of life, the maternal womb… This exhibition explores water’s paradoxical status. Works in the Schneider Collection, which takes water as its theme, combine with works by Portuguese artists, and films, documents, books and objects that bring us closer to the complexity of the element and the topicality of its political impact.
